What another great weekend. Huge thanks to Phil for hosting the event at St Pierre and to both Pete and Phil for organising the weekend once again. It was another successful weekend with slightly less in numbers to last year, however, it would have been many more if there weren’t diary clashes and car accidents!
The whole weekend started off with a friendly at Burnham & Berrow GC on Friday afternoon where 10 of us met and played 18 holes followed by a quick trip to our hotel near Celtic Manor ready for our official meeting on Saturday at St Pierre. 18 OT’s played for various prizes over the old course at St Pierre which included the Scratch Cup and Fairwater Cup. Despite the drizzly weather during play the sun did appear in the afternoon when it warmed up quite a bit. Results of the day are as follows,
1st – Winner of the Fairwater Cup – Phil Stickler – 34 Points (+2 Gross)
2nd – Will Penny – 34 Points
3rd – Pete Whalley – 32 Points
4th – Richard Willacy – 30 Points (Back 9 Count Back)

Following St Pierre few of us carried on playing on Sunday at Manor House GC, Castle Coombe which was organised by Phil. If you love golf then Manor House is a pleasant experience BUT you do need buggies!
