{"id":322,"date":"2017-06-24T16:10:45","date_gmt":"2017-06-24T16:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oldtauntoniangs.org\/golf\/?p=322"},"modified":"2017-06-24T16:16:22","modified_gmt":"2017-06-24T16:16:22","slug":"cyril-gray-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oldtauntoniangs.org\/golf\/cyril-gray-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyril Gray 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cyril Gray Tournament is a scratch foursomes knockout competition for the last 32 schools to have entered the Halford Hewitt. \u00a0Teams consist of three pairs of players each of whom is more than 50 years of age.<\/p>\n<p>The event is played at Worplesdon Golf Club in June every year.<\/p>\n<p>This year OTGS team was<br \/>\nWillacy\/Westwater<br \/>\nKnight\/Blood<br \/>\nBoyce\/Horne<\/p>\n<p>Reserve: N Robertson<\/p>\n<p>Great two days, scorching weather on the Thursday and cooler on the Friday. \u00a0First round match against Trent (Thursday) was won 2 &amp; half to half. \u00a0Second round match against Liverpool (Friday), 2016 winners, was narrowly lost 2-1. \u00a0Two matches went down the 18th, one won and one lost. \u00a0So very close.<\/p>\n<p>New acronym learnt during the competition against Trent was a NITBY. \u00a0When facing that delicate shot over a bunker onto the green and someone calls a NITBY&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.Not In The Bunker Yet!!<\/p>\n<p>Cheers<\/p>\n<p>Richard (stand-in Captain)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cyril Gray Tournament is a scratch foursomes knockout competition for the last 32 schools to have entered the Halford Hewitt. \u00a0Teams consist of three pairs of players each of whom is more than 50 years of age.
